This two-part video documents New Year's Eve day 1982 in Prasanthi Nilayam. It has not been edited. Those who did not visit the ashram before Kulwant Hall was built can get a sense of what it was like to be at darshan in those days.

The video starts with a parade accompanying a car with the wedding party traveling from the ashram for the wedding at the old mandir. Sathya Sai Baba arrives and spends some time there. He leaves at minute 17:30. The wedding ceremonies continue until about minute 24, and people then proceed back to the ashram.

Bhajans starts at minute 33:30, and we see wonderful shots of the mandir as it was in the 1980s. Sai Baba comes out for darshan at minute 49:20 and bhajans begin again at 58:30.

Part 2 continues the bhajans, and as they proceed the daylight slowly comes to an end. We hear and see the crows and other birds, which come every evening. The lights come on in the mandir just before arathi, and after arathi the sun sets.
